EndNote

EndNote is a citation management software program licensed by NCI and NIH for use by NCI at Frederick and Frederick National Laboratory employees. It can save you time as you do the following:

• Store and organize your references
• Format your Microsoft® Word® documents using thousands of journal publication formats
• Synchronize your work to be continuously saved online
• Import, organize, and annotate pdf files
• Capture webpages and create citations for them
• Add citations to Microsoft® PowerPoint® slides
• Share a library with up to 100 colleagues, anywhere in the world

To request to have EndNote loaded on your computer, please contact the NCI at Frederick Helpdesk.

NCI at Frederick and the Frederick National Laboratory have a site license to EndNote through a subscription managed by the NIH Library.  Staff can request that a desktop version of the current EndNote software (EndNote 21) be added to their computers:

1. Contact the NCI at Frederick Help Desk website or by phone at 301-846-1115 to request that EndNote Desktop be added to your computer.
2. Register for an EndNote account at https://access.clarivate.com/login?app=endnote.  If you already have a Web of Science login, you can also use that instead.  By registering for an EndNote account, you will also gain access to EndNote Online, which is web-based but more basic.  However, it can sync with your desktop libraries.
3. Check that the Cite While You Write plug-in is installed on Word as seen on the toolbar below:  
4. Test opening EndNote Desktop and save a new library.
